Oregonians have been protected from secondhand smoke exposure inside the workplace since the Smokefree Workplace Law (Indoor Clean Air Act) went into effect in 2009. However, many are exposed outside their worksites, which is especially hazardous to people with impaired lungs. If you observe of note a possible violation of the law, you can report it to the Oregon Public Health Division for investigation and further action.

Tobacco-free worksites provide workers and visitors with a healthy, smokefree environment. Tobacco users have found that tobacco-free worksites even make it easier to quit.
